Project Description

SPS Engineers, as part of TYLin team, provided engineering support for evaluating various dismantling schemes for the technically complex 2,400 ft long main span of the Bay Bridge. The firm performed engineering studies, reviewed contractor’s submittals and RFIs, and evaluated the feasibility and safety of Contractor’s schemes using staged dismantling analysis for the Cantilever truss span. The services included preparation of a design report for Caltrans that compares various dismantling options for the removal of 504 ft and 288 ft span trusses.
