Project Description
SPS Engineers, as a subconsultant to TYLin, designed the 600 ft long temporary bikepath at the Oakland touchdown segment of the Bay Bridge. This modular timber pedestrian bridge/bikepath was fabricated off-site and successfully erected in place within a thirty-six hour window before the opening of the new Bay Bridge. SPS Engineers also provided design support during construction and innovative solutions for the erection and service of the bridge in a short construction window in the field.
