Project Description
BART is undertaking systemwide upgrades for 34.5 kV Cable replacement and installation of new equipment for Core Capacity upgrades. SPS Engineers is responsible for structural supports for 34.5 kV cable replacement project for BART R line. The PS&E package includes the design of cable supports on aerial guideways, underground tunnels, box culverts, at grade structures, and design of foundations and supports at traction powers substations for cables and IDS equipment. In addition, SPS Engineers assisted the Prime consultant in preparation of plans and calculations for structural retrofit of Montgomery and Civic Center Stations for installation of new equipment for core capacity upgrades.
